英語で「ブランケット・オクトパス」、つまり「毛布タコ」と呼ばれているタコがとても美しい。日本では「羽衣タコ」と言う名前で呼ばれている。足の間に極薄の膜があり、天敵に襲われた場合に膜を広げ、目くらましに利用して逃げるそうだ。他のタコは墨を吐くが、そこで進化が別れたのだろうか。
